Craig Neville

Lawyer, Vancouver

My focus as counsel was always on problem solving for our clients. This is not a radical concept but often gets lost in the emotional drama that is the practice of family law. I now focus on Mediation, Parenting Coordination, Collaborative law and Arbitration and my goal is still to find principled solutions which address not only the immediate emotional or financial concerns of clients but also their longer term financial and emotional stability. Our strength as a practice group at Watson Goepel Maledy LLP lies in recognizing that the two goals are not always the same, particularly where children are involved. This focus is particularly important in my work in relation to issues involving children because of the long term responsibilities and challenges of co-parenting where families face separation. There are developmental issues, emotional challenges, extracurricular needs, and long term educational planning decisions to be made by parents which necessitate thoughtful and respectful solutions to promote long term cooperation. I endeavour to offer clients these more intangible skills coupled with over 30 years of family law practice.
