Dr. Swain is a registered psychologist who has worked with children and their families for 35 years. Along with his private practice, Derek teaches graduate level courses at UBC and is a clinical associate at Simon Fraser University, supervising doctoral trainees. In working as a Parenting Coordinator, Derek strives to assist parents in focusing on the developmental needs of their children. Derek is a member of the Society’s Board of Directors, and was formerly a member of our professional qualifications subcomittee and legal and best practices subcommittee. Derek is also a divorce coach in the collaborative law process.
