Who should attend: All those wishing to enhance their insight and skills in negotiation and mediation. This course is essential for new family mediators and those attending mediations as counsel.
Learning level: Fundamental
This course will introduce participants to the theory and practice of negotiation and mediation. It will also give participants an understanding of the nature and source of conflict in the context of family dispute resolution.
For those wishing to become Family Law Mediators under the Family Law Act, this is the first course in our 80-hour curriculum.
This course will count for 16 hours of mediation training and will include exercises and role-playing in both negotiation and mediation settings.
Please note: This course is offered remotely through a Zoom platform. A device equipped with a camera and microphone will be required to participate.
