Membership in the Society is determined by the Board of Directors on the recommendation of the Membership Committee. The present minimum criteria for membership are:

  1. Membership in one of a specified list of self-regulating professional organizations like the Law Society or College of Psychologists;
  2. Maintenance of professional liability insurance;
  3. Significant experience in a family practice focusing on separation and divorce;
  4. Training in parenting coordination;
  5. Training in mediation, arbitration and other dispute resolution processes and;
  6. Awareness of issues relevant to parenting coordination, such as communication skill development, high conflict personality disorders, gender dynamics, childhood developmental psychology and the like.
