David received his Law Degree from the University of Victoria in 1986 and was called to the British Columbia Bar in June 1987. Since then he has been in private practice in Kamloops. He is the founder and co owner of Kamloops law firm, Paul & Company. David practices in the areas of family law, personal injury, and criminal law. Additionally, he is an accredited Family Law Mediator, Family Law Arbitrator, and Parenting Coordinator. David is also on the Mediate BC Roster (Civil (1999) and Family (2003)). In 2003, David was appointed Queen’s Counsel. In 2013, David was recognized as the “Best Kamloops Lawyer” by the Kamloops Daily News People’s Choice Award. David received his LLM (Dispute Resolution) from Osgoode Hall Law School in June 2017. His major research paper (Canine Assisted Mediation) was published in the April 2018 publication of the Harvard Negotiation Law Review.
